BENEATH COPPER FALLS by Colleen Coble

This is a work of fiction in the Christian genre. Colleen Coble has written numerous suspense novels. She is a USA TODAY bestselling author. And she is also a RITA finalist best known for her writings. These include TIDEWATER INN, ROSEMARY COTTAGE, and series novels. These include the Mercy Falls, Rock Harbor, and Lonestar series. She is active online. BENEATH COPPER FALLS has received numerous endorsements, found at the start of the book. This book begins with a brief Prologue, stretches its content across forty chapters, and ends with a NOte from the Author. Coble includes Discussion Questions and Acknowledgements. She includes a brief teaser material for another novel, and a brief author bio.

This book is quite drama-filled. It has numerous twists and turns. I had the feeling that it is too dramatic to be true to life. I was not disappointed with the relationship between the two main characters. And their relationship stresses the merit and wisdom of valuing people for what is in their hearts, not for their looks. And that author includes some mention of God and Christ. But she does that only sometimes. I had trouble following many of the twists and turns. Maybe it is because it seems there are so many. In one case where horrifying crimes were uncovered, the author first presents the character as distraught over facing terminal illness. And then the horrifying things come out about this person. This narrative turns out to be a crime thriller. And I was expected a love story, not a crime thriller.

This is a Christian fiction crime thriller. And as such, it has what I consider a narrow appeal. Christian women who like romances filled with suspense, will enjoy this book. It is wholesome. But these kind of works should not comprise the primary "reading diet" of a person of faith.

I have received a complimentary copy of this book through BookLookBloggers.com, in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to give a positive review of this book.
