LEAVING CLOUD 9, by Ericka Anderson

This is a memoir and and biography about the life of the author's husband. The author, Ericka Anderson, begins her book with a Forward. She begins her content with a Prologue about what life is like today, framing her memoir. Then she begins her actual content, spreading it across 40 chapters. Anderson ends with Acknowledgements, Notes (for sources consulted for each chapter), and finally an Author Bio. Besides being the wife of the subject of this biography, Ericka Anderson is a freelance writer. She has worked as a digital manager for the Heritage Foundation. She has worked for Vice President Mike Pence at the GOP Conference.

This book is written about someone who received a very rough start in life but today is doing well. I felt rather sorry for the wife's husband's mother. The author shows how abuse is passed from one generation to another. Without Divine Intervention in the author's husband's life, he would have ended up turning to a life of crime or worse. The author reveals her conservative bias in her bio, because of whom she has worked with. She reveals it by how she talks of about government programs like Food Stamps. The author is realistic in sharing how her husband's past remains with him, even as he seeks to overcome his issues. She gives her story a happy ending, with the birth of two children after the husband thought he may never have children. I am happy for this family, but I often see or hear of families who do not ever fully resolve their issues. But I guess that is why I'm reading about this author, her husband and her family.

I recommend this book for all people, especially for all of those dealing with painful pasts. Non-believers and "religious left" believers who read this book, however, may be annoyed with the "religious right" leaning of the author. But it shows how bring good out of evil though what he has done in one family.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review of this book. I was not required to give a positive review of this book.
