WHAT BLOOMS FROM DUST, by James Markert

This is a novel this is written in and for a Christian genre. This book starts with an introduction, titled Before. It is framed by an Epilogue, titled After. The author, James Markert, spreads his actual material across twenty-nine chapters. These are shorter chapters with few subheadings. The author ends with Discussion Questions for group or individual reflection, and Acknowledgements. The author, James Markert, has written another award-winning book and has served as a coach for youth.

I have just finished reading this novel. It is set in a different time, in the 1900's. It seemed to be more of an action novel than a romantic novel. I cannot remember any references the God and certainly not to Christ. Yeas, this is a wholesome novel. But it is much richer in action than anything else. It is only near and at the end that much of the book begins to make sense. As for the dark secrets one character was supposed to be carrying, I somehow missed this until I get it that the character was arrested. And that was when he had been released and the book tells us about his happily ever after ending. The book isn't quite what I expected as it was not, to me, as much romance as action.

I recommend this book mainly for those who like to read fiction that is wholesome but which doesn't have much God-talk.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review of this book.
