A LIGHT SO LOVELY, by Sarah Arthur

This is a biography of a Christian author. Sarah Arthur begins her book with a Forward and an Introduction. The forward is written by Charlotte Jones Voikis. Sarah Arthur spreads her actual content across seven chapters. She ends with an Epilogue, Acknowledgements, and Notes on all those sources consulted for each chapter. The book is sometimes separated into sections, making it more readable. Sarah Arthur has written 12 books. She is a founding board member for the C.S. Lewis Festival. She is a preliminary fiction judge for the Christianity Today Book Awards.

I'm writing as one who has not read the word of the author's profile. But if L'Engles's style of writing resembles the author's, I'm interested. I expected this book to be a thoughtful analysis of her subject's like and works. It is that. I expected it to be interesting and easy to read. It is. The author does not mention politics, policies, or any politicians. But her analysis and her subject being a unifying force through her written works, certainly applies to our deeply divided, toxic atmosphere. I can tell that from her own words and analysis alone, that her subject has influenced her writing and worldview. This author tells us a great deal about L'Engle, and she tells us a great deal about herself.

I recommend this book for both Christians and non-Christians. This book is Christian, but not blatantly so it should not turn non-Christians off. This book is especially of interest to those who are fans of the writings of Madeleine L'Engle.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review of this book.
